Andritz Hydro has won a contract for the renovation, modernisation and uprating of the Sholayar hydroelectric plant (HEP) in Tamil Nadu from Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). The company will uprate the plant capacity from 70 MW (2×35 MW) to 84 MW (2×42 MW) through its units in India. This would be the company’s third service and rehabilitation project in Tamil Nadu. It has also supplied runners, spares and digital excitation systems to various other plants under TANGEDCO.
