Toshiba Transmission and Distribution Systems (India) Private Limited (TTDI) has announced the completion of a major investment worth $30 million in its Hyderabad factory, which has boosted the production capacity of transformers by 50 per cent, and established a new line for production of technology switchgears like gas-insulated switchgears and solid-insulated switchgears. The expansion will help TTDI meet the growing demand in India and globally. TTDI currently manufactures small, medium and extra high voltage transformers. The company will use the new line to start the production of ultra high voltage transformers of up to 1,200 kV, and improve the efficiency of distribution transformers.
