BHEL has secured a turnkey order worth Rs 960 million from Powergrid for the augmentation of three extra high voltage substations in Karnataka as a part of the Green Energy Corridors project. These are the 400/220 kV substation at Tumkur (Pavagada), the 400 kV substation at Mysore and the 400/220 kV substation at Tumkur (Vasantnarsapur). The projects will facilitate the evacuation of solar power from the 2,000 MW ultra mega solar power park (Phase II, Part A) to be set up at Tumkur (Pavagada). The substations are scheduled to be completed by July 2018.
