Interministerial group seeks comments on Tilaiya UMPP

The interministerial group set up by the Ministry of Coal (MoC) to examine the issues pertaining to the 3,960 MW Tilaiya ultra mega power project (UMPP) in Jharkhand has sought comments from the MoP and the Power Finance Corporation regarding the release/ deduction of the bank guarantee. In 2007, the MoC had allocated Kerandari B and C coal blocks to Jharkhand Integrated Power Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Power Limited) for meeting the coal requirements of the UMPP. In 2015, Reliance Power relinquished the UMPP and sought release of the bank guarantee submitted for the coal block.
