JSW Energy’s long term PPA with Karnataka at standstill

JSW Energy Limited’s long-term PPA tender contract with the Karnataka government has failed to materialise. In July 2016, JSW Energy had secured a contract for the supply of 750 MW of power to Karnataka state discoms for three years at Rs 4.38 per unit. However, the contract did not materialise into a long-term PPA due to regulatory delays. In another development, JSW Energy secured an order for the supply of 650 MW of short-term power to Power Company of Karnataka Limited from January 2017 to May 2017.
