SEC and Swiss Pfisterer sign MoU to develop Saudi transmission sector

The National Electricity Transmission Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned power utility Saudi Electricity Company, has signed an MoU with Swiss-based Pfisterer to develop Saudi Arabia’s transmission sector. As per the MoU, Pfisterer will help the National Electricity Transmission Company to work on the localisation of electrical and modern technology used by the latter’s industries, and to train its employees. It will also help to build strategic partnerships with international companies and encourage them to set up factories in Saudi Arabia, as part of a plan developed by the National Electricity Transmission Company to support electrical industries and increase the local component of power projects.
