The Jammu & Kashmir government has directed the state’s Power Development Department to terminate the power purchase agreement signed with GVK Developmental Projects Private Limited for the 850 MW Ratle HEP. Reportedly, GVK has abandoned works on the HEP, which was to be set up on BOOT basis on the river Chenab in Kishtwar. The state government is likely to undertake fresh global tendering for the HEP.
