The Ministry of Power (MoP) has extended the timeline for the Central Electricity Authority’s (CEA) advisory for inviting bids for boilers and turbine generators for supercritical units by central/state sector power generating companies. The ministry has directed the commission to incorporate a condition of setting up phased indigenous manufacturing facilities. The advisory originally issued in February 2010 had expired on October 2015. It has now been extended to October 2018.
