AZZ, Inc. a global provider of galvanising services, welding solutions and specialty electrical equipment, has been awarded a $27 million contract by the China Three Gorges Corporation to provide six circuits of 550 kV 4,000 ampere gas-insulated line (GIL) for the 10,200 MW Wudongde hydroelectric dam project on the Jinsha river in southwest China. AZZ will provide 8,900 metres of GIL to be installed in two vertical shafts encompassing the three circuits of GIL for each power station on both banks of the river. The delivery of GIL is scheduled to commence by June 2018.
