EGEMAC secures EGP 350-million substationcontract in Egypt

The Egypt Electricity Transmission Company has signed an EGP 350 million contract with the Egyptian German Electrical Manufacturing Company (EGEMAC) for the establishment of two substations. Under the contract, a 66 kV substation will be constructed in Sharm el-Sheikh and a 220 kV substation will be constructed in Hurghada. The substation works are scheduled to be completed within 12 months. Also, EGEMAC is constructing a 220 kV substation in Tanta, Gharbeya and a 66 kV substation in Mashtool, Sharqeya. These projects are a part of Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity’s plan to expand and develop the national electricity grid.
