NGCP (Philipphines) to complete 230 kV Matanao-Toril-Bunawan project by 2019

The private concessionaire of the Philippines’ high-voltage network, the National Grid Corporation of Philippines (NGCP) is set to complete the 230 kV Matanao-Toril-Bunawan transmission line project by 2019 in order to accommodate additional power supply in the Midanao grid. The project will include the construction of an 80 km long, 230 kV double-circuit overhead line and expansion of substations in Matanao in Davao del Sur, and Toril and Bunawan in Davao City. During 2016, the NGCP had started pre-construction works for the project by securing an Environmental Compliance Certificate through a parcellary survey. Work on the project will commence in 2018, after the NGCP secures the special land use permit, besides certain other permits. It is expected to be completed in 2019.
