TPSC secures contract for 150 MW coal fired plant in Cambodia

The Toshiba Plant Systems and Services Corporation (TPSC) in cooperation with its subsidiaries, TPSC Engineering of Malaysia and TPSC from Thailand, has won a contract for the construction of a 150 MW coal-fired power plant in Cambodia.  The contract has been awarded by Cambodian Energy II Company Limited. The project will be built at Sihanoukville on the southwest coast and the power generated from the plant will be bought by state utility Electricité du Cambodge. The project is expected to be completed by November 2019. In another development, the owner’s engineer services contract for the project has been awarded to Finnish company Pöyry. As per the contract, Pöyry will provide assistance for the review of plant design, supervision services of the location, quality assurance and quality control services, project management and commissioning of the power plant. The present contract is an extension of a previous task assigned to Pöyry for the same power plant where it was the owner’s engineer in the development stage, besides offering technical advice to the project developer.
