BHEL commences commercial operations of 1,600 MW Yeramarus supercritical power plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commenced commercial operations at the first 800 MW unit of the 1,600 MW Yeramarus supercritical power plant in Karnataka. This is the highest-rated supercritical unit commissioned by BHEL so far. It also marks BHEL’s entry as a developer in the field of power generation. The Yeramarus project is being implemented by Raichur Power Corporation Limited, jointly held by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited and BHEL. The latter’s scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of the power project on a turnkey basis.
