Essar Power’s Hazira project attains full capacity utilization within three months of commissioning

Essar Power’s 270 MW power project at Hazira, Gujarat, has attained 100 per cent capacity utilisation within three months of commissioning. The project can run on multiple fuels like coal, corex fines and corex gas simultaneously, and can also utilise excess gases from the process units of steelmaking operations. It is using a higher proportion of by-products from the steelmaking process, which has helped to bring down the power procurement cost of Essar Steel, the power plant’s sole captive client.
