Tripura to export 60MW of additional power to Bangladesh

The Tripura government will export 60 MW of additional power to Bangladesh. The latter had sought 100 MW of power but due to the lack of transmission facilities in Bangladesh, only 60 MW will be exported at present. Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited has been selling 100 MW of power to Bangladesh since April 2016 through the 47 km long Surjyamaninagar (Tripura)-  Comilla (Bangladesh) double-circuit line. In addition, the West Bengal government exports 500 MW of power to Bangladesh.
