During 2016-17, THDC India Limited recorded a remarkable performance in the areas of capacity addition, energy generation, revenue realisation and fiscal management. The utility commissioned two wind power projects, 50 MW at Patan and 63 MW at Dwarka, both in Gujarat, thus increasing its installed generation capacity to 1,513 MW. The company also forayed into the financial market to raise funds through private placement of bonds and raised Rs 6 billion at a coupon rate of 7.59 per cent. Also, THDC generated 4,370.81 MUs of energy against the target of 4189.12 MUs. The utility’s Tehri hydropower project was awarded the “Best Maintained Project” by the Central Board of Irrigation and Power. The corporation also received the HR Exceed Award 2017 for effective human resource management. More recently, THDCIL’s 1,320 MW Khurja superthermal power project was accorded environmental clearance.
