The Damodar Valley Corporation’s (DVC) board will invest Rs 10.94 billion in developing the Khagra Joydev coal block in Birbhum, West Bengal. The coal block has a reserve capacity of 103 mt. Once developed, the block will be operational for 30 years and produce up to 3 mt of coal per year, thereby enhancing DVC’s fuel security and lowering the dependence on CIL.
