NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited (NTECL) has issued a notice for suspending power supply to Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka, owing to the non-payment of outstanding dues totalling Rs 13.88 billion. NTECL will curtail power supply aggregating 1,229 MW to the three states from its 1,500 MW Vallur coal-based power plant in Tamil Nadu. NTECL is a JV between NTPC and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited.
