China to spend $15 billion by 2032for coal-fired capacity in Pakistan

China is expected to spend nearly $15 billion over the next 15 years to set up around 12 coal-fired power plants in Pakistan. The investment forms a part of the $54 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which includes spending of about $33 billion on 19 energy projects, including coal-fired and renewable power plants, transmission lines, etc. These projects will generate around 16,000 MW of electricity, of which coal-based capacity would account for 75 per cent.
