The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) plans to construct a power transmission project in the Ogun state. The project is aimed at addressing the inadequacy of Nigeria’s transmission capacity, which currently stands at 6,500 MW. It is also expected to increase the power availability for the industrial sector and the public. Under this project, TCN intends to build five substations in the Ogun state. The project involves the construction of 330/132 kV transmission power substations in Likosi, Ejio, Mowe, Ibafo and Ajegunle in the Agbara industrial area. Reportedly, TCN has already secured $1.5 billion from donor agencies such as the World Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and AfDB to construct substations on a national level.
