Tidal Bridge BV secures contract for Palmerah Tidal Bridge tidal power plant in Indonesia

The Indonesian government has awarded a contract to Tidal Bridge BV for the Palmerah Tidal Bridge tidal power plant. The project would involve the construction of a floating 800 metre-long bridge on the Larantuka Strait in East Flores together with the tidal power plant. Tidal Bridge BV is a joint venture between Dutch engineering firm Strukton International and venture capital fund Dutch Expansion Capital. The plant is expected to deliver a power capacity of 18-23 MW, which will cater to the electricity demand of 100,000 people in the area. The capacity can further be enhanced to 90-115 MW, which would serve more than half a million households. Currently, around 50 million Indonesians do not have access to reliable power.
