Vietnam government’s approvalsought for transmission development plan

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has sought approval from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade for the city’s power transmission development plan involving an investment of VND 42.9 trillion. Under the plan, about VND 10.9 trillion will be utilised for the 220 kV transmission line, VND 13.4 trillion for the 110 kV transmission lines and about VND 18.6 billion for the medium and low voltage distribution lines. The plan also includes the construction of several transformer stations including 220 kV substations at TânCang, Dam Sen Park, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Thu Them. It will also include the construction of a six-wire Cau Bong–Hooc Mon transmission line, a four-wire Cau Bong–BinhChanh transmission line, and two-wire Cat Lai–Tan Cang, Phu Lam–Dam Sen and Dam Sen-Ba Queo–Tan Son Nhat underground cable lines. In addition, the city will upgrade the transmission line connecting the Nhon Trach power plant with the Cat Lai–Thu Duc line, and will also build other high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage distribution lines.
