KBL felicitated by ISRO for its contribution to hypersonic wind tunnel project

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has felicitated Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) for its successful completion of the project related to the cooling piping system at its Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The recently commissioned hypersonic wind tunnel project is also the third largest wind tunnel in terms of size and simulation capability in the world. KBL carried out the design, supply, erection and commissioning of the entire cooling piping system for this facility through its engineering partner, Larsen & Toubro. To fulfil ISRO’s stringent requirements and for ease of operation, the number of pumps was minimised by clubbing the supply and return lines for multiple valves.
