L&T Construction has secured an order worth Rs 52.5 billion from the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation for power transmission and network expansion. This is the company’s single largest order in the Middle East. The contract entails engineering, procurement and construction of 30 new gas-insulated switchgear substations of 220 kV, 132 kV and 66 kV voltage levels, and about 560 km of 132 kV and 66 kV of underground cables.
