NHPC Limited has successfully spun the first 400 MW unit of the 800 MW Parbati hydroelectric project Stage II in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Additional tests for the unit are in progress. NHPC diverted the water from Jiwanallah into the main head race tunnel through the drop shaft for this task.
