L&T Construction secures T&D orders worth Rs 27.8 billion in the domestic and international markets

L&T Construction has secured transmission and distribution orders worth Rs 27.8 billion in the domestic and international markets. On the domestic front, the company has won an order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the execution of a ±200 MVAR STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) each at Hyderabad, Udumalpet and Trichy. The company has also received turnkey orders from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Jharkhand BijliVitran Nigam Limited, Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited and Bihar discoms. In addition, it has secured an engineering, procurement and construction order for a 20 MW solar PV power plant, and associated 110 kV substation and transmission line in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, in the international market, the company won orders for the construction of 400 kV, 220 kV and 132 kV transmission lines in Nepal and an order from Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC for the construction of the 132/33 kV Ghala Heights substation.
