Coal-miner BlackGold Natural Resources and China Huadian Engineering will reportedly form a JV to develop a 600 MW coal-fired power plant in Riau province, Indonesia. The JV will be established depending on the successful award of the bid by PLN to the PT SB-China Huadian consortium. BlackGold will hold a 44 per cent stake and China Huadian will have 51 per cent in the JV. The remaining 5 per cent will be held by a third partner. BlackGold will take part in joint development, construction, and operations and maintenance of the Indonesian power plant through its subsidiary, PT Samantaka Batubara.
