The private concessionaire of the Philippines’ high voltage network, National Grid Corporation of Philippines (NGCP), has awarded a construction contract associated with the 500 kV Hermosa–San Jose transmission line to Philippine’s First Balfour Inc. The latter will construct 230 steel towers on an 83 km stretch between the 500 kV New Hermosa substation in Bataan to the 500 kV San Jose substation in Bulacan. The Hermosa–San Jose project is targeted for completion within 18 months and aims to meet the transmission requirements of Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
