General Electric merges GE Power and GE Energy Connections

General Electric (GE) will merge GE Power with GE Energy Connections to form a single power-focused entity named GE Power. With $41.9 billion in revenue, GE Power would be the largest in the group and account for nearly one-third of the group’s industrial revenue. The entity is expected to help GE improve customer focus, reduce costs and ensure lesser redundancies. For the second quarter of the current year, the two businesses will continue to report their respective quarterly results as separate entities, while in the third quarter, they will file the quarterly report as a combined entity.
