NTDC Pakistan constructs 132 kV transmission line to connect Patrind hydro plant to grid

Pakistan’s National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has constructed the 132 kV double-circuit Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) transmission line to connect the 147 MW Patrind hydropower plant with the Muzaffarabad-II grid station. Recently, a unit of the hydropower plant was put into operation and was connected to the national grid through the 132 kV line. NTDC is also expected to construct a separate transmission line to connect the hydropower plant to the 220 kV Mansehra grid station for improving voltage levels and reducing load-shedding in the AJK and Hazara regions. The project is in line with NTDC’s mandate to connect 9,000-10,000 MW of electric power with the national grid during 2016-17 to address load-shedding issues.
