Pakistan’s Private Power and Infrastructure Board issues LoI for 300MW coal fired power plant

Pakistan’s Private Power and Infrastructure Board has issued a letter of interest to the China Communications Construction Company for building a 300 MW coal-fired power plant in the port city of Gwadar in Balochistan.  The $600 million project will make use of imported coal and construction work is expected to begin once the project achieves financial closure. The project is a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiative for energy and infrastructure projects, for which Gwadar is an important location.
