TTCL Pic to invest over $6 billion for two coal fire power plants in Myanmar

TTCL Plc, a JV of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited and Japan’s Toyo Engineering Corporation, is expected to invest over $6 billion for two coal-fired power plants in Myanmar’s Mon and Kayin. The plants, which will have a capacity of 1,280 MW each, will be set up by 2020. The entity will present a formal proposal to the Myanmar government in about 30 months as the Kayin power plant is still under study. In Myanmar, Toyo Thai Power Myanmar, a subsidiary of TTCL, is already operating a 121 MW natural-gas fuelled combined cycle power plant in Yangon.
