MoP urges state discoms to clear dues of renewable energy companies

The MoP has urged the state distribution companies to clear the dues of renewable energy companies. It has been estimated that around Rs 20 billion is due to be paid by discoms to wind energy producers since September 2016. The discoms in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are among the key defaulters with payment delays of 9-12 months. The reasons for delays include financial constraints and unwillingness to pay for intermittent renewable energy.
