DEWA’s 132 kV substation at Expo 2020 park is 77  percent complete

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has concluded 77 per cent works for the 132/11 kV Sustainability Substation at the Expo 2020 park, Dubai. Installed with a conversion capacity of 150 MVA, the substation is likely to be operational by October 31, 2017. The total cost of the project is AED 103 million – AED 83.4 million for the plant and AED 19.8 million for 132 kV cables. DEWA is building three major 132/11 kV substations along with 45 km of 132 kV cables within the Expo 2020 Dubai Park. The total estimated cost of this project is around AED 420 million. Apart from sustainability, the other two substations under the programme – mobility and opportunity – are also likely to be operational by August 2017 and December 2017 respectively.
