Saudia Arabia issues RfQ for first utility scale wind plant

The Renewable Energy Project Development Office has issued the request for qualification for the 400 MW wind plant at Dumat Al Jandal – Saudia Arabia’s first utility-scale wind power project. Potential bidders and plant developers need to submit their qualifications by August 10, 2017.  The project is a part of the first round of the National Renewable Energy Program. Saudi Arabia plans to develop 30 solar and wind projects over the next 10 years as part of a $50 billion programme to reduce its oil consumption and boost power generation. The country aims to produce 10 per cent of its power from renewable energy by 2023.
