Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority has commissioned a new 220 kV transmission substation at the Bahrain International Airport. The substation is part of a strategic plan to provide power required for expansion of the Bahrain International Airport and electricity transmission networks in Bahrain. Built at a cost of BHD 17.24 million, the new station will feed the new airport terminal building. The supply and installation of the plant was undertaken by Swiss company ABB, while the transformers were supplied by Hyundai Heavy Industries.
