The Ministry of Power (MoP) has notified the Guidelines for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process for Procurement of Power from Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic [PV] Power Projects. The guidelines are applicable to PV projects with more than 5 MW capacity. As per the guidelines, when the project site is specified by the procurer, 100 per cent land availability needs to be assured to the developer within three months of signing the PPA. In terms of bid structure, the minimum bid size will be 50 MW and the bidding can be done on the basis of tariff or viability gap funding.
