Southern Region Power Committee constitutes panel to simplify power sharing guidelines

In order to enable surplus power sharing amongst the states in the southern region, the Southern Region Power Committee has constituted a panel to simplify the power sharing guidelines. Under the new agreement, states facing  power surplus or shortage will have to inform the Southern Region Load Despatch Centre about the same, which in turn would facilitate supply. Surplus and shortage details will be exchanged on an exclusive portal, with rates being in line with those prevailing at the Indian Energy Exchange. The proposed move is expected to establish a hassle-free power sharing arrangement between southern states.
