EXIM Bank of China to provide loan for transmission project in Tajikistan

The Tajikistan government has signed a loan agreement with the Export Import (EXIM) Bank of China for the implementation of a 500 kV transmission project in Tajikistan. The project involves the construction of the 100 km long, 500 kV single-circuit Dushanbe-Obi-Bam transmission line, along with the expansion of the 500 kV Dushanbe substation. On completion, it will help solve the problem of insufficient power supply in the central and north-eastern region of the country, and will enhance the safety and stability of the national grid.
