The Shapoorji Pallonji Group (SP Group) has awarded a contract to GE Power India Limited to supply power generation equipment for its upcoming 220 MW combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Bhola district, Bangladesh. The SP Group has signed a 22-year PPA with the Bangladesh Power Development Board. The CCPP will operate on dual-fuel technology with natural gas as the primary fuel and diesel as the backup fuel. It is expected to achieve commercial operations by December 2019.
