MPERC rejects Lanco Amarkantak Power’s plea to revise tariff

The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) has rejected Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited’s plea to revise tariff for the sale of electricity from the 300 MW unit of its 1,920 MW coal-based power plant in Chhattisgarh. Lanco Amarkantak Power, a part of Lanco Infratech, appealed to the regulator for a hike in tariffs in order to compensate for the expenses incurred due to shifting of a metering point from the switchyard as directed by the CERC. The company had also sought a compensation of Rs 84 million from the state utilities regarding the same issue.
