NGCP energises 230 kV Isabela-Cagayan line Project in Philippines

The private concessionaire of the Philippines’ high voltage network, National Grid Corporation of Philippines (NGCP), has energised the 230 kV Isabela (Santiago)-Cagayan (Tuguegarao) line project in the Philippines. The project involved the construction of a 118 ckt. km line connecting Isabela in Santiago and Cagayan in Tuguegarao, along with the installation of 335 towers. Although the project was supposed to be completed by March 2016, it got delayed due to right-of-way issues. The PhP 946.4 million line will reinforce the existing 230 kV Santiago-Tuguegarao line 1 being used by the North Luzon transmission corridor in the Cagayan valley. The project will also address the contingency requirements for the North Luzon transmission corridor that serves the provinces of Cagayan, Kalinga, Apayao and Isabela.
