Azure Power Global Limited has secured a 250 MW solar PV project by submitting the lowest bid of Rs 3.14 per kWh at an auction conducted by NTPC. The project can be set up anywhere in India. However, the PV equipment must be sourced locally and developers would be liable to procure land and transmission network themselves. The tender saw participation from five bidders including ReNew Power Ventures Private Limited (Rs 3.15 for 150 MW) and Waaree Energies Limited (Rs 3.94 for 25 MW). In a separate development, Azure Power Global has won a 1.3 MW solar rooftop project through an auction conducted by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited. The company will supply power from the project to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare facilities for 25 years in different states/union territories.
