Iran’s power grid will be connected to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan via Iraq, in case the two countries finalise the ongoing talks. The project will also pave the way for power exchange with Pakistan and Afghanistan. On the whole, Iran exports power worth $750 million annually. During the March-September 2017 period, the country generated over 171.993 TWh of electricity. As a result, its exports increased by 25 per cent.
