MNRE urges the Tamil Nadu government to prevent back-down of solar plants

The MNRE has asked the Tamil Nadu government to prevent the backing down of solar plants in the state. Several petitions have been filed by various developers as the arbitrary backdowns by the state utility have caused huge losses. In a separate development, Evergreen Renewables Private Limited, a US-based renewable energy firm, moved the Madras High Court claiming that its bid for the 500 MW wind auction held in August 2017 was rejected by Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company Limited (TANGEDCO) on the untenable grounds of the non-satisfaction of net worth criterion and submitting the price bid along with the techno-commercial bid.
