EPAL, a JV between state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and UK-based EnergyPro, is partnering with leading battery storage solutions provider Leclanché for an advanced battery storage project in Ontario, Canada. EPAL has invested Rs 780 million in the project (Basin 1 and Basin 2). The project, built and owned by Leclanché and development partner Deltro Energy, is the first utility-scale energy storage facility designed to balance the Ontario power grid, with an investment of about Rs 1.62 billion.
