The Telangana government has launched a scheme to supply 24-hour quality and uninterrupted power to the agricultural sector across the state on a pilot basis. Initially, the scheme was continued for about 14 days, during which the power demand, as well as load on transformers and substations was gauged. The state will start providing 24-hour supply to agricultural consumers on a continuous basis from January 1, 2018. About Rs 120 billion has been spent to strengthen the distribution and supply system as part of this initiative.
