Coal India Limited (CIL) is in talks with Indian Railways to increase the daily rake loading from 216 rakes to 250 rakes by March 2018 to address the coal shortage concerns of the power and non-power sectors. The move is being taken owing to a surge in CIL’s demand for coal given that there is a decline in generation from hydel and wind sources.
