NTPC is finding power offtakers for its 250 MW Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh, which was auctioned in April 2017. The entire capacity was won by Solairedirect, a subsidiary of France-based Engie, at Rs 3.15 per kWh. However, Engie has not yet received a letter of award from NTPC nor any PPA has been signed which is usually done within two months of the auction. The Andhra Pradesh discoms that were expected to buy power from the plant have refused to do so citing its high cost.
