The project is a part of the central government’s initiative of extending grid connectivity to difficult geographical terrains of the Leh-Ladakh region. The commissioning of the transmission network will facilitate the delivery of power from the 45 MW NimmoBazgo hydropower plant in the region. The completion of the remaining sections of this project will facilitate the direct transfer of power from the northern grid to Ladakh.
